🔁On May 30, 2024, we successfully completed the first series of tests of laser intersatellite communications of our own design. More than 200 GB were transferred at 10 Gbps between spacecraft more than 30 km apart. At the same time, the average bit error rate (BER) was less than 10e^-11, which is comparable to fiber optic communication lines.
❕The passed tests are the first successful experience of domestic laser inter-satellite communications in space. And for BURO 1440, this is the earliest, but extremely important stage in confirming the performance and potential of one of the company’s promising technologies. We congratulate our young team on this unique achievement and prepare for dozens of new tests at distances of hundreds of kilometers between satellites.
